Congratulations to our members who received Grades and Grand Ranks at the Grand Senatus on Wednesday May 6th and Thursday May 7th.
As usual the Annual Meeting of Grand Senatus was well attended over the two days (in fact to capacity) both in the Temple and Dining. I thank all the members from Midland Counties who attended, not only our Companions who received their promotion in Grades or Grand Rank, but also the other members of Province who attended in support of those Companions. As a Province we were extremely well represented on both days.
Those who received Grade appointments on the Wednesday numbered Dist.Comps. Brian Stopford and Robert Jordon, who received their 5th Grades and Dist. Comps. Hosey Davoudian; Harold Loasby; David Christopher Ore; and Gordon Stacey, who received their 4th Grades. The ceremonies being carried out by the Grand Team. I would also like to make special mention of R.Dist.Comp. Paul Mycock who received the 6th Grade of our Order at earlier ceremony this year.
On the Thursday we witnessed the following Companions from our Province receiving Grand Rank.
Re-appointed as Deputy Grand Summus R.Dist. Comp. Francis Charles Spencer, who as our Grade recipients will testify had a major and significant role in both the 4th and 5th Grade Ceremonies the previous day.
Re-appointed as Grand Episcopus and Grand Organist were Cdr. Charles Jonathan Aspinell and Dist.Comp. Andrew Timothy Morris.
In terms of Promotions in Grand Rank the Province was highly honoured with the appointments of V.Dist.Comp. Paul Mycock and V.Dist.Comp. Trevor Leslie Cavill, our Deputy Provincial Grand Summus, both promoted to Past Grand Vice Chancellor and now styled Right Distinguished Companions and our congratulation go to both.
Receiving Promotions in Grand Rank were Dist.Comps. Michael Bernard Squires; Neil Edwin Austin Watkin; Bernd Wegerhoff all promoted to Past Grand Lecturer, and now styled as Very Distinguished Companions.
Receiving first appointments we had Dist.Comp. Ian Pritchard Bennett, who is also the Prov.GSR of Staffordshire and Shropshire, as Past Grand Herald, Dist.Comp. Richard William Vipond as Past Grand Sword Bearer, Dist.Comp. Cedric Frank Stiles as Past Grand Standard Bearer, and receiving Active Grand Rank Dist.Comp. Gavin John Cumberland as Grand Steward.
