On a beautiful day in Surbiton, V. Dist. Comp. Trevor Cavill and Dist. Comp. Cedric Stiles travelled around the M25 for an early morning start to witness the splendid installation of R Dist Comp Nigel Thomson as Provincial Grand Summus, conducted by The Mist Dist. Comp. Ian Currans, Grand Summus, and his team.
The meeting was excellent, and the welcome from the Surrey Companions was exceptionally warm. With 13 Provincial Grand Summus in attendance, it was a fantastic representation from across the country.
A delightful meal followed the installation ceremony. Kudos to my good friend Cedric for keeping me company throughout the trip around the M25! The installation ceremony was truly magnificent and a fitting tribute to R Dist. Comp. Nigel Thomson’s many years of service to the province.
The attention to detail and the solemnity of the ceremony were a testament to the event’s importance. Competently organised, the Scarlet Cord Day was an enormous success thanks to all the organizers, companions, and volunteers who made it come together.
It’s always heartening to witness such a strong turnout of Freemasons from across the country, all unified in their dedication to the craft. The camaraderie and brotherhood shown by all attendees exemplify the principles of Freemasonry.
