Midland Counties Provincial Grand Senatus 2025

The meeting was held at Burton on Trent Masonic Hall, Ashfield House, 218 Ashby Road, Burton On Trent, on Wednesday 8th October 2025.

In total we had seventy-eight attending, comprising members of the Province and Guests from fourteen other Province. We also received the Deputy Grand Summus R.Dist.Comp. Charles Francis Spencer, who although a member of our Province was attending in his official capacity.

In his address the Provincial Grand Summus made mention that it had been a particularly busy time in Scarlet Cord, with the Constitution of two new Provinces, namely The Boarders Province and amalgamated Province of Lancashire, together with the Consecration of seven new Consistories. The Grand Conferral team and indeed all the Provinces had been particularly busy and hence he thanked those who had made special efforts to be at the Midlands meeting.

The Provincial Grand Summus congratulation all the Provincial Officers he appointed and Invested at the meeting, he also made mention of the Secretariat and DC team who had done so much in the organisation and ceremonial of the meeting. He also thanked Dist.Comp. Hosey Davoudian for providing the new stand for the Provincial Sword and DC Wand stands items that had been much needed.

Having already made mention in the meeting there then followed two surprise presentations at the festive board.

Dist.Comp. Ian Bennett had stepped down as Provincial Grand Recorder for Midland Counites Scarlet Cord after 3 years of sterling service. Ian has recently been Installed as Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler for OSM Province of Staffordshire and Shropshire on 27th September. In the meeting itself the Provincial Grand Summus congratulated Ian on his support for the Scarlet Cord and his administration skills which had greatly aided the Province and promoted him to Past Provincial Grand Chancellor. Ian is shown in the photo at the festive board receiving his gift from the Provincial Grand Summus.

Also shown receiving a gift at the festive board is Dist. Comp George Steele, who had stepped down as the Deputy Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies. George had performed his duties with distinction, despite knee surgery which had left him in considerable discomfort. In recognition he had received first appointment as P.G.Swd.B. in Grand Senatus last May. Dist.Comp. George Steele is the current PGM for Royal Order of Scotland for the Province of Staffordshire and Shropshire.

The Provincial Grand Summus was pleased to make presentations to both Companions at the Festive board which were warmly greeted by all those attending.
